SENIOR CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

Natividad is currently seeking to fill a full-time, permanent Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Under direction this incumbent will schedule, assign and review work and provide lead supervision for laboratory staff; obtain clinical specimens and perform a variety of standard and complex technical laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures in the various laboratory areas; and perform related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

License: Possession of a valid license as a Laboratory Technologist issued by the State of California Laboratory Field Services (Pursuant to Section 1032 of the California Code of Regulations (Title 17, Chapter 2, Subchapter 1, Group 2).

Experience:
Two years of experience as a licensed Clinical Technologist in a clinical or public health laboratory equivalent in type and level to a Laboratory Technologist for the County of Monterey

Education/Training:
Completion of the course work leading to a Bachelor’s degree with a major in clinical laboratory science or a related field, including one year internship in an accredited clinical laboratory OR completion of other education and experience, with a license that is accepted by the State of California, Laboratory Field Services for Clinical Technologist.
 
Thorough knowledge of:

• Chemical, bacteriological, serological, hematological and laboratory principles, techniques and best practice 
• Procedures, materials, supplies and equipment used in routine and specialized laboratory testing 
• The calibration, operation and maintenance of laboratory testing equipment
