PM Shift - Hours – 10:00pm – 6:30 am, Tuesday - Saturday

New York Cancer Specialists, (NYCBS) a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a Lab Technologist to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. Practice manages a freestanding outpatient Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.
 
In this role, you will:
  • Provide information for diagnosis treatment and prevention of disease by conducting medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments and analyses in all general areas of the medical laboratory including Chemistry, Immunology, Flow Cytometry, Hematology, Molecular, Surgical Pathology and Cytology.
  •  Determine normal and abnormal components by conducting chemical analyses of blood, serum, urine and tissue samples. Thus providing data for use in the treatment and diagnosis of disease states. Reports patient reports and alerts medical staff of any critical results. Performs moderate and high complexity testing.
  • Ensure operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating, running quality control, performing required instrument studies, completing preventative maintenance requirements’, following manufactures instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for service, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Prepare reagents and necessary solutions for all laboratory tests. Set up, clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Provide medical technology information and directions clearly and concisely. Knowledge of laboratory methods and techniques.
  • Write and updates laboratory procedures under supervision as required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information. Basic Computer skills necessary, knowledge of Microsoft excel and word.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects the practice by keeping information confidential.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to monitor proficiency, expand current knowledge and enhance professional excellence
Hours – 10:00pm – 6:30 am.
