Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • B.S. and M.T. (ASCP) or equivalent or eligible. 
  • 5 years of clinical laboratory experience, including supervisory/management experience required. Other education or work experience requirements (list):
  • Experience in Chemistry, Hematology and Urinalysis strongly preferred.
  • One of the following: a B.S. and successful completion of an accredited Medical Technology Program; a B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science and ASCP accreditation or equivalent; a B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science and 5 year’s experience in a licensed Clinical Laboratory.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists certification desirable. Computer literacy:
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team member. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

As a Lab Operations Manager you are responsible for the operation of multiple technical sections of the Department of Pathology. This person is responsible for the management of staff and fiscal resources and assures quality laboratory service within the guidelines set by regulatory agencies. The Operations Manager works with the Medical and Administrative Directors to identify and implement process improvements, optimize work flow and efficient use of resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards. This candidate should have some experience in Chemistry, Hematology and Urinalysis.
