Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.
• Florida State licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor in the defined area of responsibility.
• National Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Medical Technologist.
• At least 2 years leadership experience working in a busy hospital transfusion service as well as ASCP & SBB certification a plus.
• Experience with writing policies and procedures and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, AABB standards, FDA regulations, and certifying agencies requirements for laboratories (TJC or CAP) is desirable.

Our state-of-the-art laboratory handles over 3 million tests per year, using an advanced automation line to receive/process specimens and perform chemistry testing. Technologists are able to work as generalists or specialists with an emphasis on adult hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant patients. We also serve as a clinical site training for lab students.

Duties include:

• monitoring QC testing, equipment maintenance and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies
• collecting, analyzing and interpreting laboratory data
• managing personnel utilization, motivation and productivity in the department
